  1. Randomised controlled trial comparing post-operative immobilisation of Total Knee Replacement  in flexion v extension.

    - leg and thigh swelling
  2. Randomised controlled multi-centre study to compare the efficacy of high flex Total Knee Replacement using the Nexzen High Flex knee.
  3. Retrospective study of 5 years – to study the need for protocol for revising recurrent dislocations of  Total Hip Replacement.
    - need for protocol to record MUA findings of dislocated THR
    - need to set up a protocol for further investigations
    - cost effectiveness of revision THR for recurrent dislocation
  4. Study of metal ions released after metal on metal THR using varing head size.
    - in the process of setting up this study.

Present Work
My area for interest is lower limb arthroplasty.
My unit at present does approximately 400 TKR and  250THR. I perform a considerable
number of revision THR and TKR. I also perform resurfacing hip replacements and
uni-compartmental knee replacements
